I'd be up for helping out a collective. I don't think I could teach you guys much though. Everything I know I've learned from here.

I'm thinking something along the lines of a very small scale production line. If we could all agree on a basic design for a custom controller that uses broadly the same components, we could make the controller in stages individually. For example:
- Person A has experience in machining and can get laser cutting/etching done cheap
- Person B has experience in soldering and can do all the wiring
- Person C has Arduino/Midibox experience and can do the microprocessor coding
- Person D has Traktor mapping skills
- Person E etc
Infact, if say just 4 people could agree on a design then we could collectively build 4 controllers between us (by constructing and shipping the completed parts to one another until 4 controllers are completed). Is this in any way feasible?
edit: I can already see the beginning of this happening in the NI Kontrol M1 thread (http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22996). If we can't get NI to make something like this, then surely the DJTT community can?
I'd be game for that.
I've got a coder guy on my deck project, and can do everything but the programming, but when I get it done, I'd be game to make a few more and pass em around, if somebody wants to write the code.
I haven't the money to make more than one right now, so we'd have to figure that out.
Other than that, a DJTT controller-train would be a definite win in my book.
Fixing stuff that isn't broken.
+1 for us with no skills but want to invest for when this thing fucking dominates everything else on the market
i haz mapping skillz
First of all, this looks amazing.
Secondly, I am already creating a custom built midi-fighter on a program, then 3d rendering it, then actually going to create it. After I am done with that project of my own, I would not mind helping with this at all. And I guess I could be person "A" on your list Mil0!
I has hard core soldering skills. Can I help?
nice one guys
please post in this thread (http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23877) if you want to get involved, as this thread is seriously starting to get off topic lol
back on topic: I just ordered/bought the following items today:
- Arduino Mega (£20 inc postage! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT)
- 2 sheets of 4mm perspex and some nice drill bits to cut the holes
- Breadboard jumper cables to wire everything up (130 cables from here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT)
- A bunch of encoders and momentary push buttons
OMG. . .
I think I just jizzed in my pants. . .( yet again ). . .
@Mil0
That is the most genius thing I've seen for a controller!
Wish I can partake in this great venture. . .but work/personal life is getting to me. . . Definitely keepin an eye on this one as well. . .
@ everyone else. . .you guys are simply awesome!
