Pretty decent article, definitely a good find though!

I disagree with the last part though, where he says that:

And if you're looking for a product that is as useful in the studio as it is for live performance (and you don't mind bringing a laptop into the club), the build quality, quality of its sample library, and its price definitely warrant that you take a second look. There are software packages (Propellerhead's Reason comes to mind) that deliver a more complete, in-the-box music production setup, but sometimes software isn't enough. And that's where Maschine takes center stage."
I believe it's an amazing piece of equipment, even if you really like Ableton and such, there is nothing like being able to "feel" your music as you express it!

Never the less, great find .

don't mean to shift this thread slightly but...
i wanna buy a used Maschine and I can find a used controller for $300 but no software.
if i buy the software separately, how much is it?

the reason I ask is bc its past 5pm and NI isnt answering phones right now and I wanna buy it today
Hardware: Akai Max49, Maschine, Equator D5 monitors, Saffire Pro 14

It's a bundle, you can't buy them separately. That being said, if the guy is selling only the controller, you won't be able to buy the soft unless NI makes an exception, which is unlikely.

Yep, they come as a bundle. No way to get it separate. Basically for $300 your getting a midi controller and that's it.
