It won't be $1200. Look at how much the X1 costs. this thing will be less than a grand. Probably nearer $700. Also, I'm guessing the first hands on will be BPM2010 in October. Gizmo from Skratchworx agrees.

i hope happy dan is right about the price - my guess on price is based on how reasonable the x1 is. i guess with a soundcard, this makes it worth more but i could see the value of the audio 8 dj coming down with the introduction of this controller and new tpro version.

one last thing - the audio 8 dj in the video could be there because this is a prototype model. or maybe there are tt's or a maschine being used as well??

Good call on the prototype thing. There's a Maschine in the video and a full blown A&H mixer so I wouldn't be surprised if there were TT's and CDJ's somewhere in there.

the interesting thing about the channel mixer section is the VU meters next to each channel volume fader... this could mean one of a few things...

- Traktor outputs VU volume to midi and the LED's are controlled via midi (I wish!)
- The mixer section is done entirely in audio (unlikely I think)
- It's a hybrid mixer - the faders/knobs are midi but the VU meters are displaying the soundcard outputs (most likely I think)

Why not just have the guts of the Audio 8 built into the mixer? Each channel could have inputs and outputs (soundcard mode or mixer mode).

Can't wait for this - looks much better than the DX but the jogs look a bit chunky - and I would prefer them at the front

I would just ditch the jog wheels altogether and put two more deck transports there so you have 4 deck transports altogether.
