...is weird. NI have obvoiusly had to rewrite their code to make it work on Windows. There is no way any amount of MIDI information should cause audio dropouts so the reason the problem existed and had to be fixed is down to the MIDI implementation on Windows. As a Windows user myself I am aware it's 'foibles' when running low latency audio.
As for NI saying that it could not and would not be fixed by themselves - I don't know if they said that and I'm not about to trawl through the internet to find out.
And I'm not sure why you think your time was wasted. You might have contributed to this by reporting it. You should feel good! Give into the cognitive dissonance!
PS - ad hominem attacks are usually only trotted out when rational argument fails. Accusing people of cognitive dissonance is pretty much ad hominem squared and points to the fact that the arguee has failed to note these behaviours in themself.
PPS - I am aware of the irony in those words
