There is some h8 going on here. wow.
Drop the whole middle eastern talk now, its going absolutely nowhere - theres lots of people stealing software in the middle east... we get it. This thread is one bad post from being closed so be careful of what you choose to say and how you choose to say it.
Keep is contructive, this information is really of little relevance to actually making any changes with how things are currently being run.
Ableton only allows 2 instances.
And no, you're paying for a license for YOU not for "instances." YOU are allowed to use it one one machine at a time, in two different locations. i.e. on the go on your laptop and on the desktop in your studio.
If you "give one" to your friend, you're breaking the law. period.

Let's get this thread productive:
I see one solution for people that can't pay for software. Gather into some kind of non-profit organization and register software on it's name.
For traktor, it is limited to only one instance playing (earning money to be right) and for ableton it is limited to that organisation and two computers that are in possesion.
Serato, mixvibes and other were not discussed thus I can't speculate.
This way you ensure at least one copy is legal and if organization gets big enough to be in need to play on two places at the same time it is logical that it will have enough money to buy another license. Incidentaly if someone is leaving for beeing to big for organization, he would have more money (opposed to startup DJ) and thus should be able to pay for software. the drop-puts would leave DJing/composing or turn to bedroom-cracked software.
Is it a good idea?
Many photons have died to bring you this information.
^ That is a cool idea bro... but I dont think it would ever work.
