V interesting stuff... your still a bitch* tho! >:[ lol

I definately see a lot in the area of psycology + Music/DJing, something I need to look into far more.... I also need to look into using harmonic mixing...

This is one of the reasons why I've always got a book I'm reading about music, theory, etc. It's amazing how much the brain effects how we hear and enjoy music.

and yes....I am a b*tch. haha. the song came on the radio right after i posted the others. so i had to do it! hehe

harmonic mixing is difficult but mega-awesome when it works

Imagine a keyboard (the piano kind)

Now, imagine that a song of yours is in the key of C. the first white key on that piano. If i go up 1 semitone, I'm moving up to C#. ONE position on the keyboard. If I move to D, then I've moved up TWO semitones. two keys over on the keyboard.

sooo, now imagine the camelot scale.

Let's say my song is in 9A (G Minor). To go up one semitone I move to 4A (F minor) and to go up two semitones I go to 10A (F# Minor) and if I want to go up three, I go to 5A (C Minor) (notice a pattern? I'm adding 7 for each semitone because there are seven tones in each octave!)

    uhm...i hope that helps!

I'm a classically trained musician, and I think in true musical key.

however, it's become MUCH easier to use the camelot scale when DJing because instead of associating concepts like A and C and D. I'm just adding and subtracting numbers.

    Makes for fast harmonics eaaasy.
(I resisted camelot for a while until finally settling into it, and now i LOVE it for DJing...but at band practice i still tell people to play the song in G minor, not 9A. lol)

Seriously, dont get your panties in a bunch, about who is more awesome than who. I wasn't trying to brag, i was using myself as an example as to why the camelot system is helpful for DJs.
