I would like to do this mod as well, and replace the crossfader. any advice on the xfader replacement?
Better question: Is there a mixer with replaceable crossfader that transmits MIDI as well?

The only one i know of is the behringer ddm4000. not really what I'm looking for. Which other ones do you know of?

Just look through different mixers available and look for the ones that are midi capable, there's more out there.
