I'm in Toronto too. Any chance you'd be willing to do a second one in the future for something in exchange? (I'd say "money" flat out, but I don't think we are technically allowed to conduct business here lol).

sure, but it is fairly simple once you have the parts. i paid about 1.89 for the adapter, and scavengered nuts and bolts, wire, and used tools i already had. adding the power cable, it only costed $15 plus 1.5hrs of my night

what is that exact adapter? and how did you run the s4 and laptop to the adapter? sorry i am learning all this stuff, this is the exact idea i was having just had no way of actually making it happen.

Its a C14 inlet (also called an IEC connector, officially: IEC Class 14 connector)

DigiKey is where I bought my stuff. it shipped overnight on standard shipping. surprising and exciting

as to how to how i connected the wires on, i took one of these cables, and cut off the wall part. then i stripped back the leads and soldered it directly on to the terminals of the c14 inlet. the other end fits right into any macbook chager after removing either the folding blade accessory, or the long cable.

the s4 switching adapter (black thingy that usually goes on the wall) was different. I tried to find a way to wire it to the inlet without doing so permanantly, but no such way was found by me. I ened up just soldering two wires straight to the blades (when the tip; us, euro, uk, etc was removed) and wrapped it in electrical tape. the other ends were "piggybacked" on top of the mac cord, and then finally all wrapped in electrical tape

    hope this helps!

Those frayed wires touching the aluminium on the case look a bit dodgy to me mate, to say the least.

    Be careful dood.
At the very least clean up your wiring and add an inline fuse.

lol, those wires are non electrical. not connected to anything. they simply limit the movement of the computer stand so that it doesn't fall right off when i push it to the limit. i just happened to use electrical leads lying around in my basement

    Two things:
    1) there is enough room in the case for a Mac power supply and the S4 wall wart? it looks much tighter than that in the pictures i have seen...

    2) as for making it so that you don't have to solder power leads directly to the blades of the S4 wall wart, why not snag an extension cord and cut off a chunk and wire it to IEC connector? there are heavy duty extension cords that have one grounded outlet...chop off the end you need and solder it on...

    oh well, three things....
    3) how much room is there from the back of the S4 to the back wall of the road case?

    nice job BTW!!

1 theres only space for the s4 supply, the mac adapter i had to velcro to the top beside my macbook.. probably better for ventilation anyways

2 i guess i could have, but its all done and hard wired now anyways, next time i guess.

and 3 it must be about 4 or 5 inches.... about the size of a mac charger block thing, but it doesnt fit
