Things have been a little quiet in Berlin but today the silence is broken. Ableton has just announced a public beta for Live 9.2, the next major update to Live 9 since November 2013. There are some exciting new features that Live and more specifically Push users have been waiting for: use all 64 pads for drum racks, improved aftertouch implementation, and using the touch strip for modulation. Today we’re going to look at 5 great online Ableton courses that will help get you started with Ableton and take your production to the next level. Why take a course? There’s lots of free video’s and Ableton tutorials online. Couldn’t you just learn everything you need to know about Ableton without spending any money? One of the challenges with using free resources is that you can waste a lot of time trying to find the right video or tutorial. Additionally it’s easy to jump around and learn things in the wrong order. It’s like learning Calculus without knowing basic addition/subtraction. The good news is most of the courses we’re going to look at have been designed with beginners in mind.
