The Final Round!
In round 2 everyone really stepped up the game and came back with better and more polished ideas. Several people were working together, pooling ideas and integrating each others concepts to create a better logo. Its really hard to say, they are all very good, but which one do you think best represents Dj Tech Tools?
These finalists are the re-vamped versions of the top 3 logos from the first round and 1 late comer which due to his efforts should be included. Midian and I joined forces to merge my original concept with his great turntable/hard drive idea.

Well, the weekend is here and I hope your weekends, gigs, get-togethers, BBq’s and so on go bananas. Two points of business we must manage before I take the weekend off myself to play a gig in San Diego.
First, There is a cool event in SF this weekend that is all about hi-tek futuristic music concepts, a subject we are all certainly very fond of. Plus its held in some sort of a NASA research center, so that alone makes it fairly cool. Its called Yuri’s Night and our friend Peter Kirn from CDM will be there judging the Futuristic Music Controller event.
Next, the Logo contest: check bellow for the final submissions and vote in the forum on your favorite.
Big props to all of you that took some time out of your weeks to put something together. I really enjoyed seeing every-ones take on what dj tech tools represents for them. It was very cool and we hope to find more ways to continue and involve you in the future.

The forums are awash in activity and I am really glad we went ahead and put them up. In one of the posts I asked you for the communities take on this new logo we have been working on. Feedback was mixed with some people suggesting different improvements and possibly even turning it over to the readers.
So in the spirit of letting everyone have their say I am going to open the Logo up to collective design and then we can vote on the final results in the brand new forums. First, download the current design in Illustrator format, logo.zip and you can do one of 2 things:

If your like me then Deck a Dance has piqued your interest. The impressive list of forward thinking features and “universal” timecode compatibility certainly makes it worth checking out. Oh and the advertising is hard to ignore as well.

A few years back getting onto the beta-test team of a new dj software meant some serious bragging rights. “Yeah, I got the advance copy of final scratch 1.1.3.5.6.7 , it only crashes about 5 times per hour now, I’m sooo cool.” Then everyone jumped on the open source Linux bandwagon basically saying, “hell, why not let everyone try the damn thing- then we can really find some bugs and not rely on a hand full of lazy beta testors” So lately many companies including Albleton and Serato have allowed users to downlaod new versions in advance. The only catch was they dont really advertise it and you have to know where to look. That trend continues today as at this very moment you can download 2 very cool beta’s including:
1} Serato Scratch Video
Thats right, for free you can get your hands on a demo version of what will be a very hot piece of $180 software. The only catch, you need to own the very expensive TTM-57SL or the software will not work at all. Just follow this link here to download the beta
2} DeckADance for MAC
After an unfortunate accident that left the company without its founder and creator, this new and exciting software has rebounded and is set to release the OSX version of its promising dj software. No hardware required just go here to download the public beta.
