Its safe to say that the very DIY arcade button mod I did about a year ago kicked off this whole crazy site. As we have improved the site, so it seemed it might be time to also upgrade the old VCI. Its now equipped with a band new case, professional grade cutouts and a hi grade paint job that should last a lot longer than the first one. The point of this article is not to make you jealous, but instead to let everyone know I made 2 and the other one is on ebay right now.

This will be the last update we post about the VCI-100 Special Edition on the blog. Those of you that missed out on the VCI-100SE should not feel left out, just make your own! psychoguru, a member of our brand new forum posted these stunning photos of a black VCI-100 that he basically created himself. Well technically he converted a silver VCI-100 into the black version by getting creative and leveraging his local suppliers. The process was a simple one that can be broken into 3 stages depending on how deep you want to get.

Sorry for the problems we had with our server last Friday folks. Its frustrating when everything does not work according to plan but these are good problems to have. We underestimated the traffic and PayPal gave us incorrect information about what would happen if we suddenly sold that much product in one hour. The good news is that the server is ready to go and we are now using our own payment service which will not place any limits on the store. So without further ado the webstore is back open for sales with more very exciting Dj Tech Tools coming your way soon.

First off, thanks for your patience. We all want things to happen fast but sometimes it takes a little extra time to make good things happen. This is certainly a good thing, and its because of all the emails you guys sent to distributors and the community of dj tech tools this special edition vci-100 is happening for real.
The web store for pre-orders is getting the final touches and will be up on Friday morning. In the mean time here is the information you have all been waiting for:

I should have been more careful about showing that new black VCI-100 because now everyone wants one! Here is the “semi-official” word from Vestax on release dates for the limited edition black VCI-100.First, the black VCI-100 pictured above is a Japan only release for the time being, its been made in very limited quanity and it is not scheduled to come to other markets any time soon. Thats the bad news, so now for the good news. The limited edition “Ean Golden” version of the vci-100 might be available in other markets after NAMM. That all just depends on how excited the distributors are at NAMM when I show them the first model. To help insure that you get a chance to buy one of the limited editions, you can always send them an email saying HEY, I would buy the Ean Golden VCI-100! Usually, that seems to go a long way :-)

Wow! I have been literally flying around the world, going from SF-Berlin-Tokyo-SF with very little time for writing. While in Tokyo, I did a controllerism performance at the Vestax Extravaganza and talked with the Japan team about a lot of exciting things including a sneak preview at the new VCM-100 and a brand new black VCI-100 with improved firmware and controls. Check out this video for the full scoop:
Here is video 1/2 on how to add some bad ass arcade buttons to your Vestax VCI-100. The other one should be up in a few days! Word of warning to Manufactures that send me gear to review. Yes, i may take your stuff apart and turn it into a Frankenstein dj controller. Long live controllerism!
