    Default Von Royale's newest toys!

yes the studio is messy, lol still unpacking gear.

So the goal was to create a really good sounding budget 4 deck rig. For cds, usb and playing on traktor.

This is what i came up with. The gear is older, but still has a GREAT sound and it works perfect for what I need.

    4 Denon DNS 3700 - Total cost $1200
1 Denon DNX 1500 - Total cost $170 (got this on a steal)

Already had 2 KRK rokit 6's.

That mixer is a hunk of steel, virtually indestructible.

So you'll be throwing in a Audio 8/10 and using hybrid midi mode? I was also toying with the idea of getting 2x S3700 to use as controllers for TSP now that it NI gave it back mk1 timecode compatibility....

@Slay, yes I have an audio 8, and I use them in hybrid mode.

Scratching is super tight, few problems though, getting them linked with MIDI takes a few tries each time to get it right.

Also since it is indeed using the mk1 timecode, the decks will CONSTANTLY blink red like there is some kind of timecode problem, even though everything works fine.

Can you beatmatch successfully in hybrid midi mode like on turntables (slow down on the side, speed up on the spindle)? I remember reading that with CD/USB it wasn't sensitive enough, Denon corrected that on the SC3900 but don't know it if also applies to hybrid midi mode.

yeah its not bad at all, personally i never use the side because I'm a bit too heavy handed. I just give the actual vinyl a nudge.

But...people buy the players specifically for the "Denon pitch bend buttons". Yes they are AMAZING.

newest toy! Its actually quite fun, although the pioneer effects have WAAY too much resonance in them, but working the wet dry on the mixer helps alot.
