'88 Acid house raver, now 38 with a 3yo kid, still buying and mixing 20+ years later. Had some epiphanies through the years, like after years of looking down on it I finally came to understand that House Music is a spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing. That opened a new world of music to me.

And every time they bring back the hihats, it still gets me.

I know I'm one of the "kids" around here (26) but I just want to say that this that has always, and hopefully will always, be the same for me.

Alright, I'll leave you old fogies to your... uh... being old... or something

I turned 43 this year. (how the hell did that happen) I started playing regular nights when I was 14. Back then it was Kool & The Gang, Earth Wind & Fire and Afrika Bambaataa. Fantastic.

I had a mono Roost "DJ" console that didn't even have a crossfader.

I went digital about 5 years ago, I still have all my vinyl and my Technics though. I still play at the occasional bar and private party although I have no desire to be playing at 4am anymore.

Probably just as well because there is little interest in House/Dance here in Southern California compared to the UK. (I emigrated 2 years ago from England)

The upside is I get to play chillout tunes at a rooftop bar overlooking the ocean as the sun goes down every week in the summer.

So getting older doesn't mean you have to stop.

Big shout to all the "more mature" DJ's.

    Cheers.

    Hey guys

I'm from Hong Kong, a city with an extremely vibrant nightlife and one of the most well known (and probably well paid) DJs there is a guy called DJ Kulu. Now this guy has got to be like 70+... just look at him...

just goes to show you can still DJ as long as you love music...
