Given that this is a possible 'buffer overflow' type of problem that fills up over time would it not be a good idea to try to get rid of any extraneous midi out messages?
Easiest solution to test would be to have a midi mapping that doesn't have any midi outputs, i think you would still find that the VCI-100 will drop out. Give it a go.

I'll give it a go, but people have removed the midi out messages from their configs before and the problem has disappeared.

Did you read up on the problem?

You must have missed the part where people disabled beat-synced LEDs and had their problems fixed. Just about everything you've suggested on the issue has been covered and disproved.

I think Bento is talking about removing the output lines from the midi mapping, and leaving midi out enabled in traktor to see what happens. ( I THINK !)

I'm almost certain that I've tried this and it has the same effect as unticking midi out.
This isn't a buffering overflow filling up over time. Its a timing issue with a thread, and my mini mapping above just seems to execute that bit of code lots of times to cause it to happen faster.

It is however interesting that midi-ox doesn't crash when traktor does tho...

    So what is happening ?

(P.S. Virtual DJ seems to crash as well)

Exactly Moonie. The fact that midiox can cope with IOs and that Traktor was fine until that fateful update certainly leads me to believe that this is something we can fix with enough bodging.

Is this just a VCI issue?
I use an RMX with Traktor 3 on WinXP and have no issues.

Yes, but only for certain people it seems.
