Yes It is okay to put the monitors like that, at the height my desk is at the tweeters would have been taller than my ears.

Can I ask a question about the ikea mod... do the straight captia legs screw in both ends? I can see you've got some straight ones as well as angular ones for the speakers. Are the straight ones attached or just adding support?

I have a new one still sealed and am still unsure about keeping it.

Not that I am aware of. Other than the box now says 4+1 Mixer... Probably future Maschine integration.
