Default Having Traktor Pro respond to the vci-1oose

Hey so I just installed traktor pro and it finally after a couple major setbacks is running. Nonetheless even though I've plugged in the vci-100se and imported the tsi file, my controller has no effect. The red data button turns on but traktor doesn't respond.

    any thoughts?

When I went into the Midi Setup no controller appears on the list. However before I turned on Traktor pro my computer registered a vestax vci-100 new controller in the bottom right corner.

I talked with the tech support at native instruments. They seem to think it is the problem of my usb ports. Has anyone else had a similar problem

    any thoughts?

If I'm understanding you correctly, you have the same problem I am having.
First off, make sure you're attaching your VCI USB plug into the computer (not one in the monitor).
Next, make sure that not only is your VCI recognized, but that the drivers were actually installed.
Once the driver is installed, your VCI should now be read by the computer and therefore work in Traktor. Then all you need to do is import your .tks file and you are good to go.

    Hope this helps.

    I had this problem.

The solution was to plug it directly into the back of the computer, and not through a secondary port like a monitor or hub...

So I have run the controller into both USB ports on my computer with no success on traktor. I then ran them through on Midi OX and it showed no MIDI input device.

I then did the same test on a different computer and the computer read the vci-100 as a midi controller.

Is it possible that there is a problem with my actual USB ports? If so how would I go about solving this?

Alright so after an afternoon of forum reading I discovered that some people have had issues with logitech software monopolizing usb ports. Sure enough I had installed a logitech internet camera for skyping. As soon as a I undid the logitech driver and the software for the vci-100se came up in MidiOX. So I went on Traktor and sure enough the controller finally worked.

Nonetheless after ten minutes in Traktor the computer went to the blue screen. I read up on the error message on the blue screen and apparently it is a problem with the confusion created between old and new drivers. I just ran a driver scan with Driver Detective and sure enough I have some 50 outdated drivers and some more that are plain missing.

Hopefully after updating and fixing the driver situation Traktor will run more seamlessly.

Thanks a lot for all your suggestions.

Success! So- the moral of the story, windows users beware of logitech drivers if your vci-100 is not showing up in traktor.
