Yeah it feels like it right? But really it has been three years since it came out in 2009 and it follows the trend.

    CDJ-1000 came out in 2001
Discontinued in 2003 when the MK2 came out
MK2 discontinued in 2006 when the MK3 came out
MK3 discontinued in 2009 and replaced with CDJ-2000

now here we are in 2012

Maybe your right, but I would like to see a more affordable CDJ option from pioneer, and the CDJ-200 is rather out-dated. I think whats most interesting here is the development of rekordbox...

Can't believe it was 3 years ago, time really does fly

I still think they'll keep the cd drive, a lot of dj's still use cd's so I can't imagine a usb only version

Maybe they'll incorporate the 'Slip' feature the 900's have, and most likely a touch screen.

Actually the DVD Rom is one of the more expensive parts in there...
BUT this is Pioneer. They won't skimp on a DVD drive and cut out X amount of dj's still using CD. Especially on the flagship product.

The sell through of the 2000 was far from the 1000's though so they are definitely in catch up mode with everyone else selling boat loads of controllers.

Also hasn't the DJM-250 been available for a while?

A cdj without a cd drive doesn't make sense, that would be a USBJ

Awesome I just bought my CDJ 2000sssss... ugghhhhh but well i got them cheap and they are stilll sooooo rad. I'm interested to see what improves on cdj 2000s

    I think:

    Colored wave form
    touch screen
track search capabilities (maybe touch screen keyboard)
    Slip mode
    Better HID support

Seriously? What's so expensive about the DVD drive in there? Buying a cheap dvd drive sets you off about 15 bucks. Okay, it got special damping but that has already been engineered for the CDJ100, therefore this can't cost that much either...
