Native Instruments hints at new Traktor controller. Xone:K2 Competitor?

looks like my NAMM wants are coming true

Hopefully NAMM will be the emergence of the modular dj midi units.

Wants:

- x1 width 2 channel mixer unit with xfader. Much like the xone k2 but less xoney.
- novation twitch mk2?

I much prefer the loop/move loop functionality of the S4 to the X1 felt like I wasn't really getting much for my money. Although honestly I would probably enjoy Traktor much more if the mapping system weren't such a joke.

Traktor's mapping system has serious pro's and con's.

It's very customizable and lets you get deep functionality from any unit as we've seen with the versatility of the VCI 100 mapping.

At the same time for a new user to setup a quick simple mapping that does some of the essentials, takes much longer then it should.

Anytime I ever think about doing a mapping of my own I always get turned off by the idea of working with such a crappy mapping window.

This is my problem, I don't have all that much free time and everytime I want to tinker with a custom map in Traktor it takes HOURS. There's no reason they can't massively rework the midi editing window or at least give us the option to expand it.

Thanks dude, I'll look into that, looking to map this functionality into the encoders on my DN-X1600.

Yes, there is one thing: Time control CDs and that's pretty much all I can think off. I even got traktor slipmats ffs, but still I 'm going to wait and see.
