I heard some rumors too but I can't say anything...
There was rumours on the NI forum about Ableton and Akai teaming up for a Software MPC solution. This could be what they're talking about. I could see it giving NI a bit of a run for it's money, but if you ask me it's all about workflow and Maschine is pretty solid at that.
fecking industry guys getting all "high school girlfriend who gives you a rager but won't go any further" like. Cunts.
Damn.
There are a few small questions left to be answered, mostly whether it's a dumb controller or if it functions on its own (i'm guessing the former), how they handled IO for the plugins, why they said 8 banks and 64 tracks (it should be 128), and how (exactly) the sampling works…
And price.
If they got those things right, there's a very good chance my Maschine will be for sale when this drops.
Plus its an MPC.
And It's going to cost at least 5x Maschine.

But its still an MPC. Its like stanton st150s and tech 1200s. MPCs will always have that credibility from the longevity of the series.
Curious to see if NI has any response to the new MPC at all. I love the size of Maschine and Mikro but it'd be cool to see what a bigger version could do for the workflow, but again that could get messy from a business perspective. Managing 3 different units for the same software. DAMN NAMM
I'd be happy enough with a release date for the K2.
new mixers from rane - looks like the 68 but 2 channels
