    Default Traktor Z2 Mod ?

With alot of the videos and threads on installing soundcards inside mixers i wonder, if anyone has checked out the space inside the Z2. I havent received mine yet and was thinking of having the best of both words and installing a sl2 inside. Just wondered if the space is there.

Just curious, why buy a Traktor integrated controller/mixer just to put serato parts in it? Why not check out a rane mixer with the sl box already inside?

I know it seems weird but i would like to have both traktor and ssl. And when i first saw the z2 it interested me more then the rane mixers. Also the addition of the built in usb hub is extremely useful for me.

Are you kidding? Many of us have been wishing for a standard for a long time now.
There have been many peeps throughout the years that have done this exact
thing w' mixers. I take it you've never seen the guy who put an SL4 inside
    a DJM-900?

Don't get me wrong, I think the idea is rad! Just wondering what the OPs motive for putting it in. If it will fit, I say do it. The Z2s back panel has a LOT of ins and outs. It might be a really tight squeeze in that case.

Only reason really is to not have the interface taking up space, which even though is small just having it in the mixer would be cool just switch usb ports and choose either ssl or traktor. I wonder if soldering the rcas from the sl2 on to the z2s rcas would screw something up.

If you want to put it inside, you have to remove everything from the sl case. Just the circuit board. Then solder leads to the z2 outs. As long as you aren't running traktor audio and serato audio at the same time, it should work I think.
You want to mount the circuit board on something inside the Z2 case as well.

How much do you know about soldering?

Dont know much about soldering ive been watching many videos on how to internally ground techs. And before on ps2 repairs so atleast visually i have seen several things. If i were to attempt the mods i would practice on several things before actually doing it.

I wanna do the same thing with my Ecler NUO4 but with an Audio 10. 4 decks with MIDI and an extra channel for send/return.
