Here the junkies steal the copper pipe and tap fittings outside your house.
You hear a crunch...and a woosh....
By the time you get outside....you have a new fountain!

I've done screen cap stuff on OS X before, and I know it was free…but I might have been using a python library to do it…or quick time…that sounds familiar. Grab also sounds familiar, but that might be images…which don't make any sense, because OS X does that natively (cmd+shfit+[3|4]).
Also, I'm enjoying it so far. Going to keep watching unless I have to do something at work. Love me some chill tech house.
As for the recording…the line-in on MB and MBP laptops is the same quality as the inputs on Pioneer DJ mixers. Like…if they're not the exact same chipset, they're close. The only shortcoming they have is using stereo op amps instead of mono op amps because they're so small.
All I'm hearing sounds like noise, and it looks like you're peaking at -4dB on your Denon's master. If the record out is any quieter and/or your input gain was set low as well, then bringing it up to full volume would be amplifying noise. Actually, now that I think about it, your channel gains are pretty damn low too, especially with a digital mixer with so much headroom. If you're not using the Denon as a controller for Traktor's Internal mode (which I'm almost certain you're not) then the output stage of the mixer is amplifying noise as well.
I think that's where it's coming from. At least it's waaaay less annoying than clipping for the whole set. Just fix your gain structures and you'll be good.
Also, damn those ads are annoying.
