if djtechtools come up with awesome mappings for this by next which i know ean and his crew would do. i'm definitely selling off my s4. the only downside is that i would lose my timecode controls for traktor but if the jog wheels does the job well then goodbye s4. p.s the vci400 makes the s4 and s2 look like a fischer price toy.

chrismac reposted the vid in the previous page - and it's also on the djtt blog.

and ean does say there may well be an "ean golden" edition

i was afraid with all the NI centric-ness recently that he wouldn't be behind it so much - but it looks promising

so with the little info we have atm i'd say the X1 loses out to the new K2 and the S4 might have a hard time against the VCI400...

its good to see something like this coming out

this will force other manufacturers to improve on their product's functionality/build quality/price rather than just dashing out new stuff
    Setup:

    Traktor Pro 2 / S2 MK2 / X1 MK2 / Audio6 / Pioneer HDJ2000 / Westone UM3X / rMBP 13 inch 2014 (2.8 GHz) / Focal Alpha 50

there is a power input on the back - which he had a cable plugged into in the video

    edit: from the blog...

Communication: MIDI over USB (Requires Power Supply)

It's like vestax been watching and waiting...

Next up Technics are gonna drop a cl1200 and cl1210 controller

The only minor problem I see with the VCI is it's price compared to what software it comes with. Now this isn't a issue for those who already have full versions of traktor and/or serato itch from previous purchases, but for those that don't, spending over $1k for a controller that comes with a "light" edition software seems hard to swallow.

Again, a minor issue considering most of those posting here already own full versions of DJ software.
