Man, if you are using windows, download the connectify software, it will setup a wireless adhoc connection for you and you can choose if you want to share internet connection aswell. It's far more simple then doing an Adhoc on Windows Network Settings...

First try the "no internet sharing" option:

    1. Unplug your network ethernet cable or disconnect from your wireless router. Make sure your wireless adpter is active and disconnected (you should see two wireless connections after the connectify install). If you type ipconfig on your prompt and no IP appers then proceed to the next step
    2. Start connectify and start your hotstop with "no internet sharing"
    3. After the hotstop is started type ipconfig on your prompt and get IPv4 Address (here is 192.168.2.1) at the Wireless Network Connection 2.
    4. Go to your iphone Wireless and check if you can see your network, try to connect on it with the password you created on connectify (you should not net to configure anything on your iphone wifi connection. Also make sure there is no proxy configured)
    5. Now go to your touchosc software, your host address should be the IPv4 address that you get on your laptop
    6. The IN port should be 8000 the out should be 9000
    7. Your IP should be something like 192.168.2.101
    8. Hit back and the Midi IN and OUT should be both (1)
    9. Now to test your connection, open the touchosc editor on your laptop (make sure both editor and touchosc versions are up to date) and hit sync
    10. Go to the touchosc software and hit add template or something like that, it should apper your hostname there automatically, there is no need to type the host to add a new template

If it not apper then try to check your firewall settings. Try to desconnect from 3G (i don't have a 3G device, my iPad is only wifi, don't know if it would helps).

If it still does not work, try to start your hotstop with the ethernet cable plugged and with internet sharing, try to open a webpage on your iphone's browser if it opens, the hotstop is OK, if not, the problem is not on touchosc, but on your hotstop.

Try the above steps and keep us posted if you worked it out

    Hope it helps
