my first vci 300 crashed several times during several gigs
so i went and switched it
new one seemed to be crashing too
    so i tried almost everything
    I am mac pro user
used my vci 300 with serato
I noticed that whenever my computer power was connected to the wall and vci was usb powered it seemed to freeze several times, but when i had it connected to this power filter which sends constant flow for the computer it never froze.
Also in case i bough power adaptor for my vci 300 9v dc 500mAh on ebay for 10$.
Now it is working fine i haven't noticed any freezing, but also i never played at the big club with monster speakers where the bass takes your breath.
I would probably need to use some soft kind of pad for vci that way touch sensors are not going to react and perfectly play.

Its probably because your laptop wasnt sending enough power for the device so it kept dropping out.

99% sure that is the problem. There is a couple of threads about this on the serato forums.

even long usb cables can be a problem if you are unlucky

    I'm using both .
When I want to use vynil control I use torq
When I'm using only my vci I use traktor
but there is so much simple stupid thing like the fact that you can't browse playlist with midi and do midi modifier in torq that it make me want to buy traktor scratch pro.

When using timecode i think Traktor Pro is the best system out of the lot.

    I think so too
but I don't know why some people seem to be really sold to serato for the best vynil control
