between me and my dj friends, we've gone through 4 pairs of ultrasones. I liked their look and features, but haven't gotten a pair to last more than a few months.

been using a backup pair of panasonic HTXs, but before my next party I plan to buy a pair of Technics or AKG

Well, no product headset roll call is complete without BeyerDynamics mentioned:

    Beyer Dynamics DT-770 Pro

or the Beyer Dynamics DT-770 edition 2005

Currently using Ultrasone DJ-1 Pros, both sound and build quality are pretty good, at least never had any issues. Some people might not like their size as they fully enclose your ears....

yup..no complaints about my Ultrasone Dj-1 Pros whatsoever, they build quality seems sturdy and the joints seem rock solid, and mine came with a carrying case that way to ensure they dont get squashed during transportation, one really good feature i must mention about the ultrasone dj-1 pro's is that they come with two headphone lines and one of the headphones has an inline volume control where you can control the volume of each ear independently and also a stereo/mono switch, I've noticed that my left ear is weaker than my right ear in terms of hearing so I am able to tone down the volume of the right ear so that it doesnt feel like one side of the headphones is overpowering the other.

+1 Got the special edition (incl. carrying bag) for christmas and love their minimalistic design, low weight, wearing comfort and great sound.
