The gear stores should definitely not be complaining about the economy..

the last 4 months i've only got a pair of Yamaha HS80M monitors (mandatory coz i dont have decent monitors for my workstation), and a new mobile phone (also kind of urgent replacement for my aging Windows smartphone)...since then i've slowed down a bit, uncertain on what i would invest in next...

quote from this morning on a thread on another forum, good stuff

"One thing I find helps ease the GAS is watching youtube vids + reading reviews about gear you already own (instead of gear you want). This inspires you to use your gear in different ways and helps you (temporarily) forget about new gear."

Is it considered RGAS if all I do is buy up TT and mixers to mod, refurbish, and sell?

I wouldn't think so - assuming you buy the gear used and at least breakeven on the "sell" bit of the transaction. I'm pretty sure that's called a nice little side job!

Luckily my mate has gone travelling indefinitely and lent me his 1210's and a box of records. that should ease my habit for a while. Or maybe get a dvs system hmmm.
It's not the gear. It's how you use it.
limitations are the source of creativity.
If you don't practice you don't want it.

I'm really going to try to not buy any gear for like 6 months.

Ok maybe 3 months is a better starting goal. I don't need any DJ gear but there is a ton of production gear I want that I don't need- I think I'll try to not buy anything for a while after I get sound treatment and make some more music.
