i came to terms with my RGAS and sold most of my gear. went back to the basics, 2 turntables, Rane 57 & Dicers, minimal controllersim.
I went recently when I got back into things from an S4 then sold it to get CDJ 400s, DJM 400. Sold the DJM and upgraded to a 700. THen just got a coffin case, rokit 8s, and hd25s. Although now i pretty much mix without software at all, I still have my traktor software, midifighter and audio 4 just chillin.
Pretty much that. Like I said I got a bonus from work so I had the money, and SL cards hold their value fantastically because they come with software and no fucking around with licences (you can still pay like £250 for an old SL-1, which are terrible in comparison to the SL-2 which was £350 new).
Serato, while being more complex that it used to be as MrPopinjay said, is still a completely different take on a DVS in terms of the workflow. I'm enjoying it cos I have more to do (especially since I'm new to it), and waveriding is basically like a little arcade game.

btw SSL users, does anyone know how to turn on the beatgrid display and bar numbers permanently? Sometimes tracks have them and sometimes they don't, it's pretty confusing

That's pretty much exactly the setup that's been on my mind lately... Its funny, before going digital I would try to implement every little trick I could think of to make things more complex, and when I made the switch last year I just thought "I can do so many more things with so much less effort!" Now that I have pretty much limitless possibilities, I find myself just wanting to line up two tracks and leave all the editing to the studio.
I anticipate I'll probably want something different no matter what I've got, but I think I'll pick up a pair of techs regardless since they never really go out of style.

Seems to be very true. Been looking and used SL boxes go for near retail, while there are massively discounted NI boxes all over the place.SL cards hold their value fantastically

House.
I just sold everything besides the MF and one X1 and bought the DNX1600 and another X1. Reason? Most of it was close to a year old. I'll probably do the same next year as well.
Yeah dude...I am feeling ya!
I have decided to split my rig up in order to utilize it more fully and properly.
Getting a mixer so I can DVS and hook up my KP3.
Then I got my APC80 and whatnot for internal style mixing.
Not that I am sick of it...but I need to get more out of it.
