do you think that it will be possible to use this controller also with other programs like a normal midi controller? with traktor pro for example..

Its hard to tell yet, but complete worst case senario you could program the buttons in Max Ableton to send out midi messages - i doubt its going to come to that though.

but will max for live be included in live 8? or I'll have to buy it too?

dude i saw this thing on the namm 2009 video and since then i cant stop thinking about it. there are a few online stores that are already selling them and as soon as i get my check from work im buying one 4sure.
i have 2 questions, is it necessary to have Ableton live 7 or some version of ableton for it to work or does it come with software you can use out of the box?
and also i have a vci-100, would i be able to connect both the vci-100 and the apc40 to my mac and use them at the same time??

It comes with a watered down version of Ableton - with the functionality somewhere between Ableton LE and Ableton Live.

You could use it with Traktor Pro if you wanted to without the need for the software it comes with too.

Yes, you could connect them both at the same time.
