I just loaded that stellarium program onto my flatmates laptop too. they are going ga ga over it. Awesome

You can sit outside with your laptop or ipad and line up your field of vision with the screen, put your exact location and stuff in... you can even get live sattelite tracking. amazing
very easy to use also.
