Honestly I think a lot of people, if they put in the time, can blend, mix, mash, or scratch. Some may be a little better at certain things than other and vice versa, but one thing that seperates a lot of people from very few people is the music. To me meaning; what songs to play, what order to play them, at what point in the song to stop playing the track, at what point in the song to start playing the track, etc....and a lot of that is knowing your crowd and reading your crowd.

Talent is what you are born with....at least that is the old school definition of the word that I grew up with. Talent will get you about 10 steps ahead in a journey of 1000 miles.

Based on that definition, I have almost none. But I am stubborn enough to actually put in the time, training, education, practice, rehearsal, effort, and trial & error experimentation to actually develop the skill, experience, judgement, and understanding to produce results that are worth something.
