Yeah, in my experience it goes like this:
Thickest to Thinnest:
White
Black
Desolat (L.E. Marble effect made by Desolat)
Clear
Blue
Neon (all)
Red
7" (look cool, pretty useless though)
White track amazingly well but are not good for scratching. Red are the thinest and are really light and great for scratching.
That was close - I was gonna order 2xwhite tomorrow morning. Looks like I'll be changing to Red.

If your a scratcher then its no-no on the white unless you are really used to heavy pressed vinyl.
The red is very thin as its kinda translucent (is that the right word).
My prefernce is the CLear as they are good for scratching and they track well.
Horses for courses...
If we all agreed it would be a boring world.
Its all personal taste though innit.
Interesting discussion though. What slipmats you guys using.
At the moment im using a combo of 1 Butterrug and 1 Flying carpet underneath. Thats why i like the medium thickness timecode.
Although to be honest im never happy and i change it about quite a lot as i play to many styles to stick to one setup.
Im using the Trip Mats with flying carpets underneath. Your right though, it most def boils down to personal preference. I find that its harder for me to be as accurate with the red vinyl when compared to the white. Don't get me wrong though, I am new scratch genius or anything. I actually kinda suck even though I been at it for about 9 years! That being said, if scratching were easy I would have gave it up a longtime ago.
No sir, I will not call you crazy but I will say +1.
Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Funny I had never considered the thickness for scratching. When swapping between my red and white vinyl I always felt something was different. I have to say I prefer the white. That could ve because I've been using it the most. The red really
Whips around with butter rugs
Just bumping this up for anyone that didn't get the email from NI that these are now available.
