Default blue led burnt - what mcd?

    hey guy.

i just connected my vci and the bottom most left button blue LED is broken. if i switch it on or go in juggle mode it stays unlit. otherwise it's normal green, so i'm guessing it just burnt.

is it possible that a LED burns just like this? i didn't do anything special nor recognized something.

no biggie since i got some soldering experience. i did a quick search to find the how-to-change-a-button-led-tutorial and some informative threads (i know i need a 3mm led) but still got one question:

what light intensity (mesured in mcd) do i need to buy in order to have the same intensity as the other blue leds? couldn't find any info on that..

    thanks

Is it an SE from DJTT? If it is I would get in touch and see if they'll send you one. If not they should tell you what they use.

I've seen it talked about before and I think the general consensus was that there's wasn't enough a difference to really matter. Maybe find one in the mid range as far as brightness goes. That way it might be a little dimmer or a little brighter, but not a drastic difference.

ok. i think i'll try some 7000mcd, since there seem to be midrange..

is there a difference between water clear LEDs or the other blue ones?

both my left headphone cue and right sync LEDs have burnt out for some reason, could one of you please tell me (to the best of your knowledge) the specs of the LEDs i would need to replace them with? I don't know much about the components and I've found different voltage LEDs available, thankfully my best mate is an electronic engineer so he can solder them on for me but I need to know which ones to buy!

I went ahead and replaced my burnt out LEDs with super bright blue ones from Maplin electronics here in the UK. The specs of the LEDs are:

Forward voltage max. at IF=20mA: 3.5V
    Forward current max: 35mA
    Reverse voltage max: 5V
    Power dissipation PT: 123mW
    Light output typ.@ 20mA: 8.2cd
    Viewing Angle: 15°

They seem to be working just fine, and are pretty much indistinguishable from the originals. Now I'm considering changing all the faint green LEDs on my stock black VCI-100 to bright white ones like the DJTT SE version, since the green ones are almost invisible in daylight!
