    Exclamation Schaich's Traktor 2 VCI-100 Mapping

    hey guys,

I've been working on a custom mapping for my VCI-100 (FW 1.4 now!!!) as there is no banging one from DJTT by now for Traktor 2 (afasik).

so here is my mapping sceme (hope it is understandable, if not feel free to ask me )

you can download the most recent version (currently on 0.3) here:

if you have any wishes on what to incorporate in the future feel free to comment on this, as it is still developing!

Sorry guys, had a bug on the modifiers. transports for deck B were disabled.

Fixed it and updated the file on the traktor bible server (Version 0-4_bugfix)!

    SCHAICH'S VCI MAPPING

So here's my current mapping for the Vestax VCI-100 in Traktor Pro 2 that I'd like to share with you.

It offers full deck control over A and B, the new Loop Recorder, and two "Liquid Decks" (check description below).

    Short description:

    LIQUID DECKS:
Well, the liquid decks are an idea I came up with to be able to switch quickly between sample decks and regular playback decks. I solved this issue by making use of the 3 banks in the to-right corner of the VCI. In each bank you an eather adress deck C or D by pressing the tiny black buttons on the top (control-state also indicated by LED).

    Playback mode fader:
The fader to the right acts - if you currently control a sample deck - as a modifier to the playback mode and allows you to easily switch between Cue/Play and Play-Toggle. If the fader is in the center position you can easily change the playmode of a sample (one-shot or loop) by pressing the dedicated button. (Buttons 1-4 for sample 1-4)

    Sample Deck control:
If you control a sample deck, the Sample-Buttons 1-4 control the playback of each slot, the knobs control the volume.

    Playback Deck control:
If you control a playback deck, the Sample-Buttons 1-4 turn into basic transport controls, the knobs control LOW - MID - HIGH, the fader to the right controls the volume.

    First Bank:
Two Sample Decks on deck C and D.

    Second Bank:
Sample slots on deck C, playback deck on deck D.

    Third Bank:
Two playback decks on deck C and D.

    I hope everyone enjoys this!

Here are the other "special" controls on this mapping:

    Hold BROWSER:
    - View switches to full browser
    - Select playlist from favourites with left JOG
    - Direct access Sample Library with RECORD
    - Load Track to Deck A/B with A or B BUTTON
    - Load to Sample Bank with PURPLE BUTTONS below the jogs (transport controls disabled in Browser View)
    - Load Track to deck C/D with SAMPLER LOAD (choose destination with C/D button on the left of it)

    Hold A or B BUTTON:
    - Copy current track to deck C/D with SAMPLER LOAD (choose destination with C/D button on the left of it)
    - Beatjump ± 8 counts with BEAT JUMP
    - Zoom deck view with DECK ZOOM ±
    - Monitor Deck with MONITOR (same as BROWSER); this also normalizes deck zoom
    - Manipulate loop size by x2, /2 or directly acess values from 4-32 in the LOOP SECTION

    Loop Recorder:
    - Press RECORD to record from current source
    - Load recorded loop to sample decks with PURPLE BUTTONS below the jogs
    - Clear loop recorder with SAMPLER LOAD + PLAY

JUGGLE mode (activate by pressing JUGGLE once, indicated by lit button):
    - Select/Set Hotcues 5-8 with PURPLE BUTTONS
    - Transport controls of respective decks are disabled while in this mode

I already programmed my own modified version of mappings to use TP2 with my VCI-100 SE

If you want I can send it to you. djmokmoon@live.com

Its really nice to use. your pitch control faders are the volume controls for Deck C and D and are all time live. If select the C or D deck you are in control off all features using the sample decks.

Try it .... I like it a lot.....
