that's some really impressive work, but when you're putting that much effort (and money) into a rig, why in the world didn't you go for SSD memory?

When you have that much protection one does not need the ruggedness of SSD.

Maybe all the money was gone... SSD is prohibitively expensive for a decent size capacity.

"Rebuilding" it, from the ground up with components I already had. This has been a ongoing project for over 4 years. The main difference being that now using iPads w/TouchOSC and a new custom built mixer. I'm not replacing the motherboard, memory or the 2 - 2TB hard drives. Maybe next year. 4GB memory right now w/ my 2 year old MITX board is just fine. Also, I have over 3TB in music, visuals and video.
