I was finally convinced to get a x1 to compliment my Otus and get rid of my nanokontrol and lpd8. Just gotta hang on and see now.It's not the gear. It's how you use it.

from the pics it appears that an audio 8 is still hooked up. for some reason i almost hope this new controller does not carry an onboard sound card.

On the vid it seems he's using an outboard NI soundcard. If this thing doesn't have an on board card it will keep the cost down. Given the quality of the D/A converters on the NI soundcards, though, I wouldn't mind paying more if the controller had an onboard card. One less thing to cart along is always welcome.
The controller looks eerily like the upcoming American Audio one (I forget the name, but I was seriously looking into getting one if it isn't a POS). I've been yelling about NI's hardware and about Traktor for quite some time, and I will be delighted to eat some humble pie if they get this one right. I really hope the software comes out before the controller. I wish NI would drop a bomb and say "check out this video of the new software.... and after that click the link below to download 1.3" BOOM.
