    Smile tryout?

    Hi fellas,

VDJ looks pretty good and I wanted to try it out with my Vci100SE.
But you are only allowed to download the def & mapper with a full license.

I would love to try it out and see if it fits my needs without spending $300.
I would use the trial version of VDJ to test everything.

Could someone please be so kind and send me or upload the def & mapper so I can just try it out. I'm currently using Traktor Pro and just wanted to check out VDJ.

    Cheers and thanks!

PS: Great forum by the way!

Sorry, but that is not going to happen. Only registered Users of VDJ-Pro are allowed to get those additional mappers. Just like any add-on that is available for VDJ. And we are definitely not allowed to share those.

Anyways, the 1.2 VCI100 is natively supported. Therefore you could try out the 6.0.x demo, but with the known bugs that are in 1.2 firmware, but as this only affects 2 buttons this is not a major problem i think. You can do anything you need with 1.2 and vdj. The additional mappers offer 1.3 support and :

** Master control section (of each deck)
    ** From left to right
Play / Pause - Toggles between Play and Pause
Shift + Play Pause - Stop and go to beginning of the song
Cue / Play - Jumps to Cue_1 and starts playing
Cue / Pause - Jumps to Cue_1 and go to pause mode - When pressed a second time: jumps to start of the song
Set Cue - Set Cue_1 at the actual position

** When activated 2. Level (upper right corner "effect" button)
    Play / Pause - Hot Cue 1
    Cue / Play - Hot Cue 2
Cue Pause - Hot Cue 3
Set Cue - Hot Cue 4

** With Shift you can use the "load a" and "load b" buttons to pitchbend the selected (cue) player
    Shift + Load A - Slow down (Pitchbend -1%)
    Shift + Load B - Speed up (Pitchbend +1%)

** Loop Section (upper left corner)
    ** There are 3 Buttons B1 - B3 and 4 smaller one S1-S4 every with a led
B1 - Loop IN (select the deck to work on with the CUE Button)
B2 - Loop OUT (select the deck to work on with the CUE Button)
B3 - Shift (Activate Shift while pressed and then press one of the S-Buttons or play/pause)

S1 - Half the loop length of player 1
S2 - Double the loop length of player 1
S3 - Half the loop length of player 2
S4 - Double the loop length of player 2

    Shift (B3) + S1 - Move the loop 0,25% to the left (player 1)
    Shift (B3) + S2 - Move the loop 0,25% to the right (player 1)
    Shift (B3) + S3 - Move the loop 0,25% to the left (player 2)
    Shift (B3) + S4 - Move the loop 0,25% to the right (player 2)
(The loop move is in the standard skin does the same as the "Shift" fader of the loop section)

    ** EQ Section
** From the Top: Gain / High / Middle / Bass
When turning one of the EQ Faders (Bass/Mid/High) to the minimal level (left) - the kill for this fader will be activated

** Effect Secion A+B (upper right corner) ** From left to right: rotary
    Knob_FX1: Parameter 1 of Deck 1
    Knob_FX2: Parameter 2 of Deck 1
    Knob_FX3: Parameter 1 of Deck 2
    Knob_FX4: Parameter 2 of Deck 2

** From left to right: Effect Buttons (select Player with the "Effect Parameter" Button upper right corner)
Button 1: Set Effect Flanger and activate
Button 2: Set Effect Echo and activate
Button 3: Set Effect Beatgrid and activate
Button 4: Set Effect Brake and activate

** Effect Secion MASTER (upper right corner) ** From left to right: rotary
    Knob_FX1: Volume Sampler Slot 1
    Knob_FX2: Volume Sampler Slot 2
    Knob_FX3: Volume Sampler Slot 3
    Knob_FX4: Volume Sampler Slot 4

** From left to right: Effect Buttons (select Player with the "Effect Parameter" Button upper right corner)
    Button 1: Start/Stop Sampler Slot 1
    Button 2: Start/Stop Sampler Slot 2
    Button 3: Start/Stop Sampler Slot 3
    Button 4: Start/Stop Sampler Slot 4

Virtual Dj works well on vci-100fw 1.2, but you cant really beatgrid like you can in traktor but if you mix live then it's one of the best.

I have to be honest with you. i been using tracktor for about a year but keep going back to VDJ. I love it. I wish there was a good mix between the 2 programs.

    e10,

If you read the thread you will see that someone said they will test the TRIAL version of VDJ6 which you can use for about 30 mins and where VDJ6 has built in support for the vci-100.

Go to www.virtualdj.com and download a trial version.

I have already tried the vci mapper with the trial but I have the vci-100SE and the built in mapper that come with the trial is just terrible so if the vci-100se mapper is not any better I don't see why I would by the program if there isn't fully supported mapper for my controller.
Again I am not trying to cheat just don't want to waste my money
