For the wind down and braking effects, I use "Deck Pitch Bend" mapped with four different speed settings starting with fine, default, course and switch. These are mapped to my "F" function keys. To those same keys, I have mapped "Deck Play/Pause". This causes the playback to stop when you release the key, rather than resuming playback at normal speed. Using the pitch bend with the ""switch" setting resembles the brake effect when hitting the start/stop switch on a Technics 1200.
Here's another setting I use for the wind down effect that I have mapped to function keys. It's "Deck Tempo", with "Control Type" set to "Dec", speed set to "Course". With this setting, you can tap the key to you liking to get the wind down speed you desire.
All these effects are best used with "Key Lock" off.
I have also mapped "Deck Reverse" set to "Toggle", to my function keys.
I'm not concerned about not having these effects mapped to my VCI-100, since these effects should be used very sparingly.
Deck A
F1 - Deck Pitch Bend>Fine
F2 - Deck Pitch Bend>Default
F3 - Deck Pitch Bend>Course
F4 - Deck Pitch Bend>Switch
F5 - Deck Tempo
F6 - Deck Reverse
Deck B
F7 - Deck Pitch Bend>Fine
F8 - Deck Pitch Bend>Default
F9 - Deck Pitch Bend>Course
F10 - Deck Pitch Bend>Switch
F11 - Deck Tempo
F12 - Deck Reverse
I prefer to have these mapped for the individual decks rather than the deck that is "Focus". I've had the "Focus" switch on me when I least expected it, and it led to momentary cacophony!
