It's not the gear. It's how you use it.
limitations are the source of creativity.
If you don't practice you don't want it.

Easy Brighton people, I'm putting on a user group meeting for Ableton Live users (and anyone interested in electronic music), we have official support from Ableton, and will be featured in the Brighton Digital Festival for September. The next session is Friday 23rd August.

There's a chance to win some merchandise so come on down! https://www.facebook.com/events/279191058889817/?ref=22
I've written a few bangers and played a few raves but have since sold out.

    Hello my fellow Brightonians!

I've been bedroom DJing for almost 2 years now, and I'm absolutely desperate to start playing out. I mix the 'faddy' garage-driven-house that is popular at the moment as well as garage, techno and 'bass-music'. I've got the full club standard Pioneer Nexus setup at home with a pair of Technics too so I'm used to the equipment most clubs have and practice literally at every moment I have free.

Has anyone got any advice (obviously this site is full of general advice) specifically relating to Brighton as a town to DJ in? Any recommendations of good trees to start barking up etc...

    Would be much appreciated!

    Thanks, James

    Hey man.
I'd say keep on keeping on, go to gigs and be sound to people and things will happen. Make sure you have some tight mixes available on soundcloud or whatever. If you are lacking public DJ experience I'd say throw a party in a pub and be the DJ, its an achievable way to get some experience and will be lots of fun.

If you are interested in production you should come to the next Brighton Ableton meetup we are going to have a demo of Ableton's push by a certified trainer and there will be some demos of brand new kit from Novation. ....And Afterwards it will turn into a party with some DJs.

    Hello,

We have Ital-Tek and Alex Banks doing Ableton Live Master classes tomorrow evening for free at Access to Music college off of Lewes Road, kicks of at 6pm.

Should be a great show and a good chance to meet like minded producer/djs. Get invloved here; https://www.facebook.com/events/482699175180956/?ref=22
