There will be probably new low- and/or mid-tier CDJs but they won't ditch their one and a half year old end-tier models.

As mentioned a few times in this thread its like that there will be a MK2 of CDJ900/2000 in one or two years.
I imagine them adding slip mode to the cdj2000 eventually.

Btw I just got a pair.

Well going on the original post I don't think your crazy for thinking that.

I've recently bought CDJ2000s and DJM2000 and have to say I love it. It feels so good going back to basics (so to speak). I ditched my CDJ1000s a few years ago for a controller and thought it was the way forward. After some controllers later I was loosing my passion for djing. The last controller was the s4, although very good just doesn't have the same feel.

    Hmm yeah tough decisions.

The biggest thing is when I start saving money for something like this I start thinking of all the other stuff I could buy for $3200. New hackintosh, a hardware synth, etc.

I do the same. But you have to work out what will give you the most enjoyment for your cash.

I would love a DJM 2000. But I think a DJM 900 would probably fit my work flow. How do you like the 2000?

2000 is overkill for one person. Go 900.

So back to the question, for myself yes i've been thinking back & forth about CDJ 2000/900.
I know the 2000 would be very overkill for me since i'm just a hobbyist & never really gig out. at this price point/rationality the 900 is still the best choice.
If i dont have a problem buying a $3500 value hardware workstation synth last year what's more to say about a pair of 900 that is cheaper?
My only reason for them is the USB/LAN connection & dont need to burn CDs anymore.
