You should also set up a keyboard shartcut for 'save collection' and hit it regularly when you are prepping. That way if Traktor crashes your collection and any playlists you've set up should be safe.
Regarding backing up, I do what Jester does. Periodically copy the traktor 2.x.x folder from documents to a separate location. This contains your collection.nml file which is what you'll have been updating with the step I've said above.
Guarantee this will only happen to you once. After this you'll be obsessive about backing up!!MacBook Pro, HD25's, Midi-Fighter Classic, Pioneer DDJ-RX
