MIDI controller out of anything

hey forums this is my first post and i was wondering if you guys could help me out on something. In the recent blog post on Robert Delongs happy song ( you can find it here http://www.djtechtools.com/2014/03/0...mote-on-happy/ ) he uses a mircosoft fightpad game controller. does anyone know how to make a regular like keyboard or game conttroller into a midi controller for ableton or something like that

There are several alternatives out there (some free) that can get the job done. You need HID-MIDI or Keystroke-MIDI depending on if you are using a gamepad or keyboard.

Bomes ftw. I have used a playstation controller for midi. Gets a lot of attention.
