Thanks Josh. Could you point me to some of those discussions? All my searches in the Ableton forums point me to discussions about how to master yourself.

I have indeed checked out the Tarekith tutorials and they are useful and informative, but for all the reasons biru so eloquently wrote, I've given up on trying to do it myself.

For one thing, my home studio is in a small room with no acoustic treatment (just drywall) and I'm mixing on M-Audio BX8as. Good enough for my purposes, but not nearly a neutral listening environment.

Another benefit to having someone master one's tracks is that in the EDM world, we so often produce alone (which I actually like), but it makes it hard to assess our tracks objectively for mastering purposes.

Thanks Whyte, I'll check that out.

I've been schooled by Biru. Haha. I graciously accept my defeat and will carry forth the new knowledge bestowed upon me. <3

    check my stuff out here...

if you like the final master mixes let me know, I'll do it for $20 a track and can give you a 20 second demo/sample before you pay and I send the completed mastered tracks.

I have been producing for 12 years and do all my own mixing and mastering, I can handle just about anything and I strike a nice balance between loudness and dynamics, i.e. I actually know how to master and dont just crush stuff.

let me know here on the forum or you can email me here

    michaelohagan912@hotmail.com

    good luck.

tarekith does mastering full time, his studio website is http://innerportalstudio.com/

nebulae (another ableton forum regular) also does mastering, his website http://nebulae.com/

and a few users often use http://www.emasters.co.uk/ too.

    hope that helps

This guy is one of the best I have heard.

He mainly does Psy (as far as I know) and is seriously good. He has made shit sound good!
    LOL

But he is also a musician and producer of Electro Popish type style too.

He is a HUGE Audio nerd!

    Quality....and reasonable!

    Check him out.
