    Default break modifier

assuming this situation requires a modifier:
what i want to do is have my play pause button start a track and when I hit it again to pause the track, i want it to sound like a short wind down break, like the denon cd players have. i'm guessing this is a modifier with the turntable or some other effect set to turn on when play is pressed a second time? can anyone help? thanks

I think it must be something like this
    Note X = play (requires modifier 1 state 0)
    Note X = activate modifier 1 state 1 (requires modifier 1 state 0)
    Note X = activatete effect X (required modifier 1 state 1)
    Note X = set modifier 1 to state 0 (required modifier 1 state 1)

    I hope this helpes

You'll need to use the TTFX for that, bearing in mind it's a buffer effect that needs to be selected for the channel before actually being able to use it. It means if you want to do it for two decks, you'll have to keep two fx units for that. Then you can use the built in modifier that relates to play.

Frankly, not a good idea to implement that on the play button. Better to have it as an option on another control.

There’s also an almost hermetic community that exists in many areas of dance music, where serious hobbyists feed off each other’s expertise but barely connect to the industry – despite many of those involved actually working in it.

yeah, sounds like i'll dedicate a button to it for each deck and then just use fx 3/4 in chained mode. typically i don't use all four fx banks so it's no loss there.

    thanks for the reply guys.

on this topic, wouldn't this be a nice feature to ticky in the preferences? like the break effect on cd decks? could just be a slider like the xfader contour - to one side is a slow winddown like a turntable and at 0 it would be like it is now.
