    Default My Mobile Lighting Setup

    Hey Guys!

So i had a huge graduation party coming up, that was just last weekend, and i wanted to do something crazy for lights, since this was like, my breakout gig. So after a little brainstorming with my brother, we came up with building a 3D, portable booth, that we were going to put lights inside. My grandpa, an amazing woodworker, gladly took on the task of constructing this monster of a project. In just a weeks time, i ordered two COLORstrip's, an obey 40 lighting controller, 4 high powered strobes, and fabric from Oklahoma, we were able to construct this:

As for my setup itself, it is simply an S2, Crane stand, Macbook, The lights i mention, two PEAVEY 115's, a Crown amp, and a small Mackie mixer incase my (old) mac crashes. I'm going to be getting two NDX 900's and a midi fighter asap though, since i don't really like the S2.

Being 14, dj'ing a highschool party, and having everyone so amped, it was pretty awesome. I had girls coming up to take pics with me all night (i even got some up on the speakers haha http://cl.ly/0r1Y2n2P1T3Y0K0v412H), parents telling mine how impressed they were, and the superintendent of our school district (who was there) said he wanted me to do prom, homecoming, etc. So all in all, i though the light show worked out great... You thoughts?

Thanks! I actually just got the text, i'm locked in for homecoming in september! Along with these cabin club nights things my brother and i are doing in July, August, and September, i'm dying to take this baby out for a spin again!! The funny thing is, the day before my party, these frames were sprawled all over my living room floor, and we were staple gunning the fabric on until midnight lol

Looks great. In the end, the home-made stuff is the best, tailored to your needs!
Do, or do not. There is no try.

Nice!!!! The frames are just built out of 2x4's stripped in half, and the tops fold down, then cover it in Lycra fabric!
