ScreenWerks returned with a vengence to the annual Winter Music Conference VJ Challenge in Miami and walked away with the top prize: the 1st Place World Championship! Jay E had the beachfront arena rocking with a throwback-style set full of funky breaks, chunky cuts and classic movie clips. While most of the competitors stayed predictably in the electro-house/top-40 realm, Jay intentionally brought it back to the soulful roots, impressing the judges with creative edits, seamless rhythms and undeniable turntable skill. Our close friend DJ Costik took 2nd (no 3rd place was awarded this year), so it was a clean sweep for the ScreenWerks fam who had driven in from St Louis to compete. Jay and Costik collected Pioneer hardware for their efforts, the acclaim of their peers, and the satisfaction of bringing the World Championship Video DJ title to its proper home. #Werk
