We had a chance to sit down with these fun-loving Swedes and ask them what they keep in their DJ bag. As you might expect, it’s not the normal array of gear and equipment that some DJs bring with them, but they certainly have the ingredients in their bag to get a party started!

If that little mini usb-stick is all they carry with them you’d expect them to at least have a backup ;-)

This is further evidence that the CD transport of the CDJ is dead!  Pioneer seriously?  How much longer do you think you are going to be able to hold out from giving us what we want?  A CDJ 2000 minus the CD part!  I know it’s going to be hard to have to drop the prices but I’ll be honest that’s what I really want to play.  I love my controller don’t get me wrong but I also love the feel of those Pio jogs.

    dj bag… show-off content.

    Justice for WIYB, plz :D

  • Anonymous

So… what equipment are they actually playing on? Anything the venue has available? Or do they demand certain equipment set up for them, in their contract?

But, yeah, an USB is far more reliable than a hard disk, and most definitely so when you carry it around. And a 16GB USB stick can easily carry over 1000 tracks at 320kb, more than enough for the whole repertoire of a DJ.

  • GRiNSER

The CD drive costs about 10$ in production – if they remove it you still need to have all the other parts…
Besides with or without a CD drive, the highend ones will likely always be too expensive for my taste…

  • rockson

I see we have a little ‘moan up’ and then the videos come flying
Cant wait for the MF pro vid now! Next week maybe ;-)
Right cant wait for Steve Angello and A-traks whats in your bag now! ( wishful thinking?)

  • Rev1911

WUT?  THEY NO USE CDJ AS DVS?  ONLY USB DRIVE?  NO LAPTOP?  BUT THIS IS DJTRAKTORTOOLS??

  • http://www.eangolden.com Ean Golden

sorry to hear that. People really like the “what’s in your bag” features- which is why we do them. Some of them end up being more technical and in depth others end up being a funny inside look at popular djs from a different angle.

  • http://ax11.myopenid.com/ Tom

I can’t help the feeling they made fun of us…

  • http://www.eangolden.com Ean Golden

Do you think you could tell us Why exactly? I am all for criticism but it needs to be constructive. What sucks about the video? How could it be better?

  • Wishyoudefeat

I love DJTT.  Whats up with all the hate lately.  Pretty ungrateful if you ask me.

  • Spacecamp

I’ll see if I can talk Ean into this soon : )

  • Anonymous

What the f*ck is all the hate? Stop taking yourself so seriously. In fact, take a note from Dada Life’s chapter. Be stupid, you will have more fun and live longer.

And no, they werent making fun of WIYDB, that is just how they are…

  • https://twitter.com/#!/hzaidi09 Hasan Zaidi

I thought it was humorous, and that it actually proves a point – not all DJs travel with mountains of equipment. Ean, keep it up. I for one really like the “What’s in your bag” series, even if they aren’t always a 10 minute gear-lust session.

  • http://www.jimismyth.com/ Jimi Smyth

    This is hilarious!

  • death to inflatables

There is nothing i hate more than “inflatables” at a party or a club. i get that some people like that but that is definitely not the vibe i am into.  Not to mention, you have to worry about some d-bag knocking a beachball into your turntable while you have a record playing.

  • Hey Kool-Aid!

its not DJTT’ fault if they don’t have a bunch of gear in their bag to talk about. One thing I would like to see added to this type of segment is a question or two on what they use to DJ and why….doesn’t have to be in their bag to talk about it.

  • trixner

Most likely their rider has to have CDJ2000′s on it so they can use the linked CDJ functionality. I worked at a pretty large club and even the shittiest DJ’s that featured had riders. The venue just gets them what they need. Same w/ any festival or club that has people come in to play. The artists tells them what they want, they bring it. Any large name act these days has switched to usb instead of CD’s. No more burning, bouncing to disk, labeling, reburning when you eventually scratch a disc.

Let the haters have abetter day. Moar of bag-videos I say.

  • http://dadizajn.net Tomislav Simi? ToS

Really? It’s a party dude, you smile, return the inflatable to the crowd and get the needle back on the record.

  • moonunit

very funny, but not very informative

  • http://twitter.com/NotSoSiniSter NotSoSiniSter

In my opinion, the reason DJs watch videos like these is because they want to see how the pros do it, and why they do it that way. A video that I found verrrrry intresting that goes along with what I’m saying is a deadmau5 interview where he talked about his (old) setup, he talked about how he did things, and why he did them that way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTCqeWu094I&list=FLulC4c1mmaI8LsQSmfuYe1w&index=21&feature=plpp_video Add more technical elements into these videos will really make them awesome. :)

Those guys think they are funny but they are not. And Ean was not really presenting here. he usually asks nice questions like in masterkraft video.

  • Pedroferreirapulido

Not all “what’s in your bag” episodes will have tons of gear and great explanations on how they use a certain type of gear, and why they choose this over that! This is not the best episode, but obviously they won’t always be amazing! Please keep on going DJTT !! forget the haters!

  • Deejaysoul

The video could have been 5 seconds long with them just showing us they’re headphones and usb sticks.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Grant-Reynolds/748309866 Grant Reynolds

yeah, not really digging this.. sure there funny enough blokes and its cool to have a joke but it was quite disappointing to figure out half way through this video that there just typical DJ’s. Where not on this site to see that kinda stuff.. This site is for alternative thinking DJ’s and featuring a couple of DJ’s/producers that are not is not good form.. Yeah, so what, there famous and make awesome music, id rather see a “whats in your bag” from someone lesser known that uses alternative gear.

great vid, love their tracks and their attitude towards it all, clubbing is about good times, and clubs have djs, so it all fits.  i already use their plugin “Sausage Fattener” so the news about a new plugin was awesome, I’ll be all over their website looking for it.  His demo of the plugin was hysterical.

as much as pushing technical and technological boundaries rocks and DJs
who do it are awesome, i think their motto is all about having a good
time and to hell with being so serious (which seems to affect a lot of people in this community….what’s with taking yourselves so seriously?).  Maybe they do have unique little tricks up their sleeves when they mix…maybe not, whta i think they are trying to tell all of us here is…it doesn’t matter what you use, it’s what you do with the music! :)
