Midi-Fighters are back..

Today’s article never got written, its been 4 days since I last checked email and my 3 man team is starting to drink double espressos inside a coffee. Why so nuts at the TechTools labs? Because we started selling batch # 2 of the Midi-Fighters on Saturday night @ 12AM, they are already 50% sold out and we have hundreds of orders to fill for anxious customers.  Painting, building, photographing, and hand signing midi-fighters is taking way more time than expected so shipping is a little behind schedule and I don’t have a fresh article for our dedicated fans today. The good news? Everyone loves the new “design your own controller interface” and the controllers are looking awesome. There are still 200 available from this batch, so check them out in the web store if your interested. After the jump I have posted a few scans of the first midi-fighters built.

Last but not least-  this Friday, I am finally going to publish the 20 minute video of a mix/routine I have been promising for months!

Thanks are in order to many, many people:

  • Zach, Chris and the TechTools team – for putting up with my maniacal insistence on perfection and working so hard to make these controllers.
  • Robin (Fatlimey)- for creating the best controller firmware possible – all in your spare time
  • Michael (MidiFidler)- For your endless dedication to helping us make great things possible.
  • Tommy – For working nights till 5am on website code to make everything run smoothly
  • Priscilla- For Making the rad Midi-Fighter Certs.
  • Everyone on this site- For your continued support and dedication to the cause.

Without everyones help, this project would have NEVER been possible. Thank you so much.

Apparently scanners cant do gold foil? Bummer!

This is why I love this site. You really feel like you are a part of something genuine and special. Ean and the gang pour their hearts into their work and we get the benefit.

Not to be a dick but I believe authenticity is spelled wrong.

Will a certificate of authenticity be provided to those who ordered the DIY kit instead of it being assembled at DJTT?

Looks like a few people have already pointed out the spelling mistake. Sorry for the echo.

That really sucks. We just got them in yesterday and in the rush of the day- no one noticed the spelling error. They will need to be re-printed. We had only planned on sending out the certificates with the pre-built controllers (because of the picture) but if everyone really wants one we can also include them with the DIY kits as well.

Ahhhh…. the joys of being a small business owner. I feel ya bro. I just had to send back 1000 business cards due to my name being Brain instead of Brian. Unfortunatley I gave out about 20 before I noticed the mistake.O well….. shit happens. No need to worry with sending certificates with the DIY MF’s if you weren’t planning on it. Take your time fellas. We know you have been busting your ass to make this happen. All your hard work is very much appreciated.

If mine happens to be one of the ones already badged with the “authetic” certificate, I would rather you ship it with the error, if your gonna fix all the others. That misspelled badge might make mine worth an extra $100-$1000 someday.

I haven’t been able to find anywhere…. but with the new midifighters, are the leds red or blue?
I also don’t see a choice on the order page, like there used to be.

The LEDS on this batch are all blue- most people preferred that color :)

Thanks for the feedback- we will go ahead and ship out controllers with the miss-spelling until the new ones come in (about 1 week)
