Hi Ean - Many Thanks for all your great work. I for one believe that you are right to charge for the overlays and if people want to use your clever TSI's then they should be prepared to pay something.
Anyway I just wanted to check if it is still possible to use the jogwheel to select tracks in the browser window like I just watched in an old video??? This is a great idea and it would be great if it's in the new mapping... anyone know?
Cheers

@the House > I had the same feeling when I first bought my VCI SE but every overlay untill now (2) brought us many great improvements. Yes, I know, It's going very fast and you just have time to get used to one that it changes... Ok. But If you don't need all the options, keep yours or buy a blank one where you changes the labels when you want without spending a penny.
But,for me, the new overlay is not an option as it really brings ease of use for juggling and Fxs and 4 deck control.
There are a lot of people that think we could charge for the mappings because they are so unique but I have refused to do that. We let you use it for free and then purchase to overlay to help support the creators and cover our costs. That seems to be a win-win situation for our customers and us.
it seems like a very fair trade, if you want to use the new mapping permanently- support us with the purchase of a new overlay. If not- no big deal you can continue to sue the old one or the new mapping for free.
Continue like this... I bought a VCI100 SE and the two overlays that came after (I just received the last one) and I've planned to buy a midifighter later this year when the setup will be more efficient (and there is no doubt for me that it will be when I look toward the 3.4 TSI and what you all did since the first Traktor pro release).
For the moment, I use my VCI once or twice a week without a glitch and untill the things turn bad, I 'll remain a loyal customer.
Your business model has all my sympathy. It's respectful of the customers, it grows slowly but surely and to me (and many others) you represent the future of digital mixing.
Keep going!

Really?? I mean like I mentioned before, I can appreciate the time and they do a great job, but seriously I just bought an overlay 6 months ago. It's just doing good business. You have a repeat loyal customer...treat them like one. Don't scam them with a new overlay every six months. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating cause I learn a lot of DJTT...I'm just saying don't turn into poor business habits. Take care of your peeps a little. I'm not asking for a free one....just a discount..$10 off or something.
We spent the past 6 months working really hard on this new mapping. Countless man hours went into testing and refining that mapping. How else are we going to re-coup that cost other than to charge for a new overlay?
I am all for giving back to loyal customers but further discounting the overlays is just not an option. Any other suggestions will be considered fully.
