AeroDynamic Juggle Routine and Tutorial
Here is a new routine that combines several different elements on the VCI-100 into one complete remix of 2 tracks. Watch the video for a full demo and then detailed break down of the methods. Download both of the mps’s used in the video with the cue points ready to go later in the post.

Ean, that is legendary. Truly inspirational. A thousand thanks.
I reckon we need an annual DMC style competition for software and controllers. (Someone shout now if one exists already and I’ve been missing something vital here). Would be brilliant to see how creative people can be in pushing the technology as far as it can go. What do you think? Would be happy to help organise the NZ heats :-)
All finest to you and the DJTT team, always

Nice. Good work on the vid. Like both sound & the controller mod.

Those yellow faders are like a fat chick. Probably good to play with, but I wouldn’t want to be seen playing with them…
Great routine, Ean!

his knobs/faders and button color mirror the midi fighter shirt! that’s what so cool about it.

This is so great Ean. Thanks!
November 4th, 2009 at 11:27 am Quote

November 4th, 2009 at 11:28 am Quote

November 4th, 2009 at 11:49 am Quote
Nicely done hombre
November 4th, 2009 at 12:08 pm Quote
That video just sold a modded VCI.
November 4th, 2009 at 2:47 pm Quote
Would anyone know how to mimic Ean’s sample (length width fader)/stutter effect on an m-audio xponent? Perhaps using torq? Besides that bit I think I have it!
Awesome!
November 4th, 2009 at 4:22 pm Quote
Great vid. Been attempting to perform the routine with slight success :p
So much to do in quick succession. I’m thinking its harder without arcade buttons.
November 4th, 2009 at 4:37 pm Quote

Where are you from in NZ DaveQ?

Sick routine ean :D love to see more of these!!
November 4th, 2009 at 9:12 pm Quote
pretty wicked. we need more stuff like this and the past few blog entries!
and I second the notion that we need a dmc style event for controllerism. who cares about watching people try to be the next qbert and do their quadruple click flare orbits or whatever, this stuff is actually interesting.
November 4th, 2009 at 9:47 pm Quote
As all have said, big up Ean, you are like the Rob Swift of MIDI. I realized that my issues with the VCI are that I have not even tapped its potential. And maybe I need arcade buttons ;).

This is far out! I have a question about these performance modes that always messes me up when I try to do stuff like this. After I play with fader mode and juggle mode, the feedback to the VCI seems confused — the headphone lights no longer function properly (their lights on/off state has no correspondence with what’s actually going on with the headphones, though the buttons still work), juggle mode light stays on, sometimes the FX lights seem confused, etc. Is there a way to “reset” these lights and things when you come out of the mode?

Ean you are a legend!! Another Daft Punk sample though?
Love all your vids just thought this one lacked a bit.
Still the best midi soldier.

Killer!
Your timing was perfect for this article.
I downloaded the NI Scratch Library and there is a Mario Bros track.
I have been juggling with that…practicing my timing on the VCI.
Will be jamming this tomorrow and pissing off the neighbours.

I’m running the VCI-100SE 2_4 (TPro 1-1.2) map with my VCI-100 but I can’t seem to get the volume faders to work when I turn on faders effect mode with chained effects. The wheel and pitch fader work perfect fine. Any suggestions?
November 14th, 2009 at 9:19 am Quote
Great stuff! Inspires me to be more adventurous with Traktor Pro + VCI 100 SE and try out completely new things.
This is a perfect example of what makes DJTT the best DJ community site – where skills and tips are openly shared (instead of closely guarded).
Keep these types of videos and articles coming!
(Note: also loved the white noise video)
