One Click Traktor Sampler

Do you want to grab a loop from a deck and keep it running without using 4 decks? Have you ever thought about sampling a beat juggle live in Traktor Pro? Then you sir need to get up to speed with the one click sampling trick we discovered a few months back. Check out the video bellow that walks you through how it is done on our VCI-100 mapping. Then to learn how you to set this up your self, read on after the break.

The Idea

The Goods

Creating a one click sampler is easy, just assign all the following functions to one button!

*Load Beatmasher into a FX slot

*Set Dry-Wet to 100% (this will keep the volumes consistent)

*Set Beat Masher to 0 (grabs the maximum 4 counts)

*Turn Beatmasher ON

You may also want to consider adding a command that turns the FX slot into an advanced effect and even the fx routing if you can afford to put a “sampler” button on each deck. One thing to remember, if you have another fx loaded in that slot then it actually takes 2 clicks- one to load the settings and FX and one to start recording.

I use a hotkey for this, have deck A/C set to R and deck B/D set to U, leaving space between them to make sure I don’t hit the wrong one! Thanks for the idea Ean, works great on acapella mash-ups.

This is really cool but I’ve also turned it on accidentally in a few sets and had some unwanted looping.

one of these days I’ll get around to incorporating it more, another great feature I never would have known about if it wasn’t for DJ TT

Have you ever thought about putting together a tutorial dvd? It would be cool to practice on my computer while watching the dvd on the tv. Keep up the great work and I look forward to hearing some good mixes and mash-up from you in the future as well.

I like doing this too, but I play with it a little (at least in Traktor 3.3, I don’t use Pro) by changing the gate value. What this will do is, instead of playing all four beats, only the first 3 beats will play and then there will be 1 beat of silence (you can change how much of the sample plays by adjusting the gate value). Keeping your loops dynamic will greatly bring your mix to life!

Virtual DJ have sample, Serato have sample, Deckadance have sample, MixVibes have sample, I can’t undertand the reason to use Traktor to do this job.

actually they all do not have an “in-sync” sample engines. especially one that can me manipulated as much as traktor. all digital dj programs have their unique characteristics and that is why some are better suited for certain djs and their styles. traktor just has a more personalized approach for many more different styles i believe. too each his own and their own voice.i learn from EVERY style.

I divorce from VDJ to mary Traktor pro but Traktor doesn’t accept my children sample. I’m not happy.
